Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 1, 2025  |  Last Updated: April 28, 2025

Energy News America ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website energynewsamerica.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights with respect to that information. We have written this policy to be straightforward: we do not collect personal data, we do not use tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share reader information with third parties.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

Energy News America is a static editorial publication. We do not operate user accounts, newsletter subscriptions, comment sections, or any interactive features that would require you to provide personal information. We do not collect:

  • Names, email addresses, or contact information
  • Payment or financial information
  • User account credentials
  • Precise geolocation data
  • Device identifiers used for cross-site tracking

2. Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, our web hosting infrastructure may automatically record certain technical information in server logs. This information is collected to maintain and secure the Site and includes:

  • Your IP address (which may be truncated or anonymized by our infrastructure provider)
  • The date and time of your visit
  • The pages you viewed
  • Your browser type and operating system
  • The referring URL (the site that linked you to ours)

This server log data is retained for a limited period for security and operational purposes and is not linked to any personally identifying information. It is not used to build profiles of individual users.

3. Cookies

Energy News America does not use cookies for analytics, advertising, personalization, or tracking. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other third-party tracking technology.

Your browser may store technical cookies necessary for basic site functionality (such as caching). These cookies do not contain personal information and are not transmitted to third parties.

4. Third-Party Content

Our articles include images served from Unsplash (unsplash.com), a third-party image hosting service. When your browser loads an image from Unsplash's servers, Unsplash may receive your IP address as part of the standard HTTP request. Unsplash's privacy practices are governed by their own Privacy Policy.

We load web fonts (Inter and Lora) from Google Fonts. When your browser requests a font from Google Fonts' servers, Google may receive your IP address. Google Fonts' data collection practices are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

We do not embed social media widgets, advertising networks, or any other third-party scripts on the Site.

5. Content Delivery

The Site may be served through a content delivery network (CDN) such as Cloudflare to improve performance and security. CDN providers may process technical request data (including IP addresses) as part of routing and security functions. This processing is subject to the CDN provider's privacy and data processing terms.

6. Hyperlinks to External Sites

Our articles may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any external sites you visit.

7. Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights under applicable privacy law, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for residents of the European Economic Area, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) for California residents.

Because we do not collect personal data as described above, there is no personal data to access, correct, delete, or port. If you have a privacy-related question or concern, please contact us at privacy@energynewsamerica.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.

9. Data Security

We employ reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the Site from unauthorized access. Because the Site is static and does not process or store personal data, the attack surface for data exposure is minimal.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the Site after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
